1. Rhyzopertha dominica
Rhyzopertha dominicais a type of pest that is classified as a primary pest
that damages a lot of cereal commodities such as rice, grain, wheat, sorghum,
corn, tubers, and some substrates which contain starch and packaging made of
wood-based materials. The damage experienced during the storage period has
mostly had an impact on the level of quality and quantity of the product caused by
these pests (Hendrival et al., 2019).

This pest can be found in shops that sell cereal products. Not only that, these
insects are also often found in food and animal feed processing facilities.
Rhyzopertha dominica attacks rice and grain which is characterized by a foul odor
resulting from insect secretions and reduced nutrient content in cereals. In adults
and larvae, these insects are considered quite dangerous because the level of
damage caused by eating cereals is quite high.
