, COURSE DESCRIPTION
• The course is designed to provide students with knowledge and
skills of how to teach English through content area subjects such
as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History,
and Economics. Grounded in the principles of Content-Based
Instruction (CBI), students can make use of English as a medium of
instruction and a tool for learning content knowledge and skills.
Throughout the course, they will learn language knowledge and
skills, pedagogical competence, technological competence,
classroom management, and be oriented to the conservation of
characters including inspiring, humanistic, caring, innovative,
creative, sportsmanship, honest and fair as well as the integration
of the values into the learning activities.
• To facilitate and promote students’ learning, the lecture adopts
various methods such as discussion, cooperative learning, case
method, and team-based project to promote the students’
learning.
