During the 1920’s, conflicts between cultures became a large problem changed society.
People of different backgrounds, races, and classes were pushed to come together to fight for
a common goal. Document 3, Call for Unity Between Black and White Laborers, shows the
need for people, no matter if they’re black or white need to come together and fight against
capitalist employers for “better wages, shorter hours, and better working conditions”. The
Document also shows the need for women and children to also join in the fight. This
Document is an example of the need for people to work together and achieve something
great, which was eventually done.

Second Selected Source Title:
Document 2: AntiLynching Broadside
4. Write a second paragraph reflection explaining if and how you would change your thesis
based on this additional document. Explain your reasons for changing or not changing your

Reflection:

The purpose of this parade was to put an end to lynching and antiblack violence through
protest. This was a large instance of black citizens publicly demonstrating their fight for civil
rights. Document 2, is an ad that shows the difference between petition and exercising the
right of suffrage. This ad urges black citizens to vote against those who voted to protect the
lynching industry. I think that this Document and Document 3 both support my thesis that
working together and fighting against something that they do not believe is right, is the best
