In this section you are asked to describe the standard activities that you are planning to carry out for the duration of your
Quality Label. Standard activities can be defined by relating to the organisation's aims, main activities and target groups.
They should be described by listing typical tasks that the participants would carry out.

Please describe the activity and its context. How does it relate to solidarity and the European Solidarity Corps principles?
What is the European added value of the activity?


Activity and context:
1. In-depth on-site acquaintance with the activities of thecultural center, team, team responsibilities - activity for the first
2 weeks of arrival of the individual long term volunteers, when they settle in and adapt to the new environment,
explores the location of KKC and surroundings of their apartment, routes to KKC, market and other necessities and
places of interest together with mentor, meeting the team and roles of each member, bonding, getting toknow the
local community. Activities are scheduled and planned in advance by ESC project coordinator and mentor in
cooperation with the rest of the team.
2. In-depth identification of volunteer skills, experiences, interests and setting learning goals - activity for the 3rd week
since arrival of the individual long term volunteers, when they self-reflect and evaluate their skills,knowledge,
experiences, attitudes and interests, expectations, the strengths and weaknesses with the help of informal education
methods and guidance of mentor and management team. The next step is to set the learning goals with the help of
evaluation results for the project and to co-create the activity plan together with volunteer, mentor and management
team. Together is planned the regular reflections and analysis of progress, setting new goals, keeping in mind that
learning goals may change so remaining flexible.
3. Identification of challenges, problems and needs of Latvian and homeland local communities, identification of possible
solutions - activity for the 4th week since arrival of the individual long term volunteers, when in the guidance of the
management team they study the local communities of Latvia and volunteers homeland, and identify the challenges,
problems and needs of these communities, learns of differences if any. For those community challenges in which the
volunteers are most interested in, they research different experiences of local and foreign NGOs and other
stakeholders of inventing creative ideas for overcoming the community challenges. This will inspire and encourage
volunteers to participate and bring ideas for activities with focus of solving community challenges. Activity is flexible
and can be applied individually.
