Title : The Impact of Digital Technologies on Vocational Education and Training Needs:
An exploratory study in the German food industry
1. Research question/problem statement
Technology has become the main foundation in today's digital era. What's more,
technology is a necessity that is used as a tool to make work easier. In companies or
workers, especially in the field of SMK, in order to get detailed insight how views affect
these needs. Many feel positive about technology, one of which is those who have a
more positive view of the pressures of digitalization, for example its potential to create
business models. And also, to address discrimination among previously disadvantaged
groups in the labor market, such as women and persons with disabilities. But this is the
advantage of this sophisticated tool. Not a few who feel the impact of technology.
Vocational High School (VET) is the purpose of this article. In Germany, there is hope
that the existing vocational education system can support most layoffs. This argument
is corroborated by the fact that jobs tend to be more difficult, requiring personal
interaction and creativity, which digital technology cannot easily support. However, it
is possible that the application of digital technology can make changes in the future.
2. Motivation/relevance
The impact of new technologies on qualification requirements for industrial workers in
different industries especially in vocational high schools (VET), notes the increasing need for
(scientific) literacy, i.e., competence to read, document and analyze measurement data in
automated production. Importantly, they emphasize how the specifics of work organization
and new technologies affect the mode, scope and target group of training actions. And from
this impact have not found a solution to the impact. And some of the companies in their study
generally prefer to integrate new skills training into existing vocational jobs, although some
companies prefer the creation of new, certified jobs that are created by technological change
better.
