B) the instructions you would give for one activity.

Example of Eliciting

- T: So everyone, look at this picture, please. What can you see?
- S1: Man and woman
- T: A man and a woman, yes, can anyone say a bit more?
- S2: They're riding their bikes.
- T: Excellent. Good. What are their names do you think?
- S3: Donald and Melania.
- T: Great idea! – So I'm putting that on the board (Teacher writes on the board 'Donald and
Melania are riding their bikes.')

Check the examples in Unit 7 to make sure you understand what is required.

N.B. If you do not use direct speech, you will be required to resubmit the whole assignment.

words in total.

Show the Actual Words you would use for:

i) Eliciting the Target Language from the Context
T: Today we will talk about dreams! I personally have many dreams but the one that I really want to
see come true is to teach in different countries. How about you? Which dream do you think you will
realize?
Sophia: Become a fashion designer
T: Cool! I’m sure you will be an amazing one! And you Thomas?
Thomas: drive a motorbike!
T: Good Thomas, this is adventurous! Lea?
Lea: Visit London.
T: Interesting. And you … ?
(Teacher writes on the board each student’s answer)
T: Let’s now pick Lea’s dream. So Lea, if you travel to London, what will you visit?
Lea: If I travel to London, I … Mmm.
T: If you travel to London, Will you visit the Queen?
Lea: If I travel to London, I will visit the Queen House.
T: Wonderful, so you will visit Buckingham Palace! (Teacher rewrites the answer on the board: If I
travel to London, I will visit Buckingham Palace). Now, do you think it’s possible that Lea visits
Buckingham Palace if she is not in London?
S: No!
T: Correct! Here we have “If I travel to London” as our condition and “I will visit Buckingham Palace”
as our condition’s result (Teacher underlines and names the 2 clauses in different colors). So, let’s
continue and use: if you visit Buckingham Palace as our new condition. Let’s try to find a result for this
new condition. Shall we?
S: Yes!
