Thesis Statement: Tobacco smoking has been known to be one of the leading addictions among
the youths, resulting in many deaths and other related diseases.

I. INTRODUCTION
A. Attention-getter: We have all heard of a person who either died or is suffering
from a deadly disease related to tobacco smoking. Well, today, we will discuss in detail the
dangers of Tobacco smoking.
B. Credibility statement: Tobacco smoking education has proven to be effective
in reducing the number of youths who fall prey to the deadly addiction.
C. Relevance to audience statement: I believe you are between 15 and 25, and
youths are the most affected, with more than ten million suffering an addiction in America.
, D. Preview of main points: History of tobacco smoking, Dangers of tobacco
smoking, actions to fight the addiction.

II. BODY
A. Smoking Tobacco was known to be part of a ritual back in the 5000 BC. The trading,
consumption, and cultivation increased and spread widely in the 16th century after the
arrival of the Europeans (Hunter et al., 2020).
1. Due to its addiction, the demand quickly increased.
a. Its cultivation and trading were becoming a booming business.
b. Tobacco farming equipment was modernized, leading to mass production,
and so, consumption continued to increase.
2. Controversies and condemnations against smoking begun to rise in the 1960s.
a. An article linking Lung cancer to Tobacco smoking was published by
Fritz Lickint.
b. A strong anti-smoking campaign began in German but was not successful
until a study done by British Doctors proved smoking to be dangerous.
