Purposes of multicultural education
The primary purpose of multicultural education is to establish a new school structure so
that each student acquires the skills, knowledge, and attitude necessary to function in an ethically
and culturally diverse society (Acar-Ciftci, 2019). Education equity to all students despite their
culture, social groups, ethnicity, or race is crucial to ensure students develop critical and
reflective individuals in a culturally inclusive society. Parental involvement has been considered
an important aspect of Multicultural education's purpose to provide students with educational
experiences that enable them to maintain commitments to their community cultures and acquire
the knowledge, skills, and cultural capital needed to function in the national civic culture and
community.
Multicultural education is solely based on the idea of educational equity. This means
academic success to all students without leaving not even one behind. It strives to create an equal
chance for all students by eliminating the barriers to educational opportunities and success that
exist as a result of cultural differences. Educators are expected to adjust or eliminate, or modify
learning materials, instructional practices, programs, lessons, and educational policies that course
