Report on the Boarding Establishment Design

and how your design complies with legislative and regulatory requirements.
My dog boarding facility design incorporates the following legislations and regulations:

The design of the kennels allows the dogs to move around freely, without their tail touching the sides
of the walls, and to lay and stretch out without being restricted. The kennels are attached with an open
run to allow the dog to have enrichment opportunities and meet their additional exercise needs. In
addition, the design of the kennel allows the dog to have constant access to fresh water with the
fixture of an automatic water dispenser. The fittings within the kennel provide a hazard free
environment, providing a comfortable, warm resting/sleeping area with size-appropriate beds and
blankets. Furthermore, all kennels contain a variety of different toys to phycologically and
physiologically stimulate individuals and enables them to exhibit normal behaviours, such as chewing
and chasing which supports the need for a suitable environment. Additionally, the kennels have
enough room for two dogs from the same household for those who have separation anxiety and
require company, which supports the need to be housed with or apart from other animals. The kennels
are routinely cleaned, spot cleans occur daily, whilst deep cleans with disinfectant occur weekly;
however, fittings such as feeding bowls are cleaned and disinfected after every use to prevent bacteria
developing.
In addition to the accommodation for the dogs, there are quarantine kennels separated from the main
boarding lobby. This is to reduce the chances of disease and illness contraction to healthy individuals,
whilst also catering for those who may not be fully vaccinated, or that show signs of abnormal health.
The individuals that are accommodated within a quarantine kennel are not able to socialize in the
exercise halls, but instead, are provided with additional walks around the enclosed outdoor walking
area; this is, again, to prevent the spread of illness and disease to other healthy individuals. The
fixtures and fittings are the same as the main kennels.
The boarding establishment has three exercise facilities, a small dog exercise hall, a medium/large
dog exercise hall, and an outdoor enclosed walking area. The exercise halls are used for an hour per
day with a group of dogs to allow the dogs to have supervised freedom, where they can socialize and
play together. The exercise halls have a range of different fittings for enrichment, such as weaving
