1900 time period:
Some of the reasons that global migrations occurred in the 1750-1900 time period were forced labor, poverty,
hope for jobs, work-related things, and for safety.
2. How do you think industrialization played a role in increased migrations in this time period?
There was a shortage of unskilled workers in the US during the Civil War. Business was growing, but they
didn't have enough workers. Therefore, they brought people/ people who moved to the US. It wasn't only in the
USA however. Other countries also had these problems, leading to more people migrating to different areas.
3. How do you think global capitalism played a role in increased migrations during this time period?
The capitalists continued to rely on forced labor, therefore bringing people to these areas, increasing
migrations.
