University of Hawaii Manoa Should College Education be Free? I had chosen this topic because this is something that I was interested in learning. I wanted to see what different people said about making college free. Many of my friends and family are going to be in debt or already trying to pay off their loans. Many people have to find alternatives like going to the military or not going to school at all because they can’t afford it. College should be a place where students can get a proper education and not have to worry about paying off loans. Many students in college already have to find jobs that are minimum wage to help pay for college. I like this topic because I was able to learn more about the pros and cons about making college free. I also think this topic was good to research on because if there is a way to make college free and have people to support that idea then it is more possible to make free college happen. The end-goal of my essay was to make more people believe in having free college, even if it means higher tax rate or paying for it in some way. I also want my readers to see that it definitely is possible to have free college. If college were to become free more people would be able to get a better education and get a degree. With this essay I want more people to understand the benefits of having free college. It does state some of the cons in my essay but most of it is financial problems that we may face if we make college free. I found my sources by using the UH Manoa library website and I checked online. I looked for sources that had different pros and cons to my topic. I also looked for sources that could help me to identify why college should be free. I also looked for certain sources that could help me to explain why free college can affect us for better or worse. It helped me to see people’s opinions and some facts about why free college can be good for the community and how it can affect us in bad ways. I had tried to look for information online before I went looking for inform

Should College Education be Free?

I had chosen this topic because this is something that I was interested in learning. I wanted to see

what different people said about making college free. Many of my friends and family are going

learned many things from my research. I learned how making college free benefit us and how it

can affect us negatively. I also learned that this year more and more people in politics are trying

to help make college free. Some challenges that I faced was finding source because a lot of the

sources had similar ideas. I also had trouble writing more than 2,000 words. I had tried to find

more sources to give me more information on the topic. My peers had stated some of my

paragraphs were too long, so I tried to shorten them by making new paragraphs. I also had some

grammatical errors that I needed to fix so I went ahead and changed my sentence structures.

Going to college is financially hard for many students, this causes many of them to drop

out of college and find other alternatives. Many people have been debating whether going to

college should be free. This has been an ongoing issue for a very long time. We are fighting for
