Part 1. Identifying Your Goals and Your Personal Influences
I would start this report by asking myself what are ethics? To me, ethics and values have
turned out to be promising ingredients for not only success but also to attain a good
perspective in life and help me achieve clear conscience. Ethics serve as a guide to moral
daily living and helps us judge whether our behaviour can be justified. Ethics refers to
society's sense of the right way of living our daily lives. It does this by establishing rules,
principles, and values on which we can base our conduct. There are several codes of ethics
that I apply in my everyday life which have ultimately helped me become a good human
being. Ethics such as honesty, responsibility, fairness, loyalty, promise, respect, and a couple
more.
As a student like many of my fellow mates, I have a long way ahead of me. Throughout this
journey, I had the privilege to work with many great minds and also I had the opportunity to
lead them for a common vision goal we all shared. However, there have been some bitter
experiences that later become lessons that I felt I needed to become an even better version of
myself. There will be dilemmas for all of us in the future, we necessarily do not have to be
sailing in the same boat or share the same age or profession to face what challenging choices
and decisions our lives will force us to make to succeed. Earlier this year I read (Holiday,
2017) Ryan Holiday’s book Ego is the Enemy and learned how ego can destroy not only
opportunities but our dreams as well. So, reading that wonderful book also opened up new
perspectives for me which I am proud to say, I apply in my daily life.
Motivation for me comes from various places. One of my biggest motivational factors is my
self-doubt and a wish to be respected for who I am. Other than that, my health condition
