The Criminal Justice System is critical to the maintenance of peace and order in any society.

A. Ensure that you describe the THREE (3) main components of the Criminal Justice System. (6
marks)
The Police is a body of officers representing civil authority in their countries. The police
has many powers over the civilians of the country and are therefore trained and put in
place to protect the well beings of the citizens.
The Courts- courts are a part of the justice system to bring about justice and fair and
reasonable trials for a person accused or the victim.
The Corrections- corrections are punishments intended to rehabilitate or reform a person
who had been previously charged. Types of corrections are incarceration, probation, and
parol.
B. Identify THREE (3) main responsibilities of each component of the Criminal Justice System.
