Discuss the impacts of the acquisition on the key stakeholders identified in A1. 1. Physician owners- The physician owners will be affected in many ways both positive and negative depending on how you view it. The hospital acquisition will lead to an increase in patient referrals. This increase will generate more revenue and profit. Coordination of care will become more seamless with having access to the hospitals EMR. Coordination of care will also be easier by having a wider net of physicians to refer patients to and receive referrals from. Owners may see the new team-based approach as a negative. Owners will no longer be at the “top” of the hierarchy. All team members will have their opinions heard, not just the “top” members. Training will also be required for physicians to learn the acquiring hospitals policies and procedures.
