1. SALES LETTER
• Sales letters are the most cost-effective and
time-efficient means of marketing products or
services.
• They are also a form of advertising. However,
unlike press and television advertising which
are meant for everybody, sales letters are
targeted at selected types of customers.
• The primary objective of any sales letter is to
convert its readers into potential customers.
,• The purpose of writing a sales letter is that
direct, face to face interaction with all
customers is not always possible. It is written
with the purpose of:
• 1. Attracting new customers
• 2. Retaining interest of old customers
• 3. Creating a good impact
• 4. Facilitating retention about the product
and the company.
• With a change in the purpose, the manner of
writing the letter also undergoes a change. If
the purpose is to get animmediate response,
the letter could make use of “attention
grabbers”, eg: Afree gift with purchase of
items over Rs 500/-.
• The more innovative and creative the letter
