right now what we ve experienced is probably one of the fastest 20 %
drops in the market in history. the main message right now is that you
don t need to panic because it s not again , you know , this is not
armageddon. it might feel like it and it may go , the market may go
down a lot further and i ll talk through some potential scenarios. if
this turns into a fully fledged market, we have further to go further
down. and it s really important to realize now that this may or may
not happen. but if we re , if you lose your composure and start to
panic now, then the results of your account could get a lot worse. and
so again, what i want to impress on you is that we. re not sure what.
re going to happen. the biggest updates and the biggest down days
occur in the middle of a bear market. a rally like friday does not signal
the bear market is over. it does not mean the decline is over, it doesn't
signal the decline has over. and when vix spikes, basically fear is high
in the market and volatility is high prices of bouncing round.
Anthony says the market may have bottomed and it may be moving
into a new market. but the reality is after a 27 % decline, we re-not
gon na rush into a brand new bull market and hammer upwards for
quite some time. the rallies in a band mocket fast and steep and
volatile and they turn around just as quickly. Ben [UNK] Don't be in a
rush to jump back in with leverage. Don't jump back into the market
with leverage, he says. don t jump back with leverage in a little bit.
the s and P 500 index in 2008 2009 fell 56 % from peak to trough 56
%.. 2008 was not the biggest bear market in history. in this download,
people experience more and more pain and they start to sell
accelerating the downtrend. not everyone sells because it s only the
first down. down leg in the market. then it gets to a point where the
major selling has paused or slowed down, and then some buyers step
in because there s bargains. that pushes prices up. and then what
happens is the people who didn t sell in the down leg see their
opportunity to get out with less pain. that s why these rallies
eventually stopped and they don t go on to new highs..
