Professor and Class,
Chang (1994) in his book review discusses the challenges that
Christianity is facing in the 21st century. The most significant difficulties
addressed are institutional and cultural (Chang, 1994). He explains that
the basic church foundation faces challenges including the very
preservation of the church. He states that the church foundation is
necessary for the church community to survive to allow for individual
moral identity grounded in the institution (Chang, 1994).
I think society itself shows that these are valid concerns for the
preservation of Christianity. People are free thinkers and politics and
religion although “separate” remain enmeshed in different moral beliefs
and multicultural influences. Examples include those that oppose
abortion and those that believe abortion is an individual right, care of the
poor and infirmed that cannot care for themselves both in the United
States and foreign countries, and help for the aged and working poor.
These are only a few of the moral issues that face Christianity today.
Religious wars are happening in our world today and affect the lives of
many people. History has shown a pattern of religious changes and
Christianity is not immune to the passing of time or the influence of
society.

any more because they want families as well as religion. I actually feel all
religion needs to be revamped to go with the times, yes the belief stays
the same but things change, the world has evolved and religion should
be aswell.
