IMPORTANT ROLE OF ENVIRONMENT

ON INDONESIAN LEARNING




The environment is related to many things in human life. In learning especially Indonesian,
the environment can affect the quality of student learning. By involving the environment in
learning, students can reduce boredom with the learning atmosphere in the classroom. Students
are also easier to understand learning because the atmosphere is not "monotonous". Ira Guci, et
al, (2016) said that in order to foster concern for the environment, an intellectual, especially
students, must be skilled in writing argumentative essays about the environment.

Ramadhan et al (2019: 2) stated that environmental education is able to help students rethink
the relationship or correlation between humans and their environment. The correlation starts
from understanding the environment, being aware of environmental problems, and considering
environmental problems related to human life. In addition, with this environment-based learning,
students will be more sensitive to environmental conditions. Thus, teachers use the environment
to train, familiarize, and motivate students to think critically and creatively. Not only students,
teachers also need to think creatively in utilizing the environment to be used as learning
media. Sukma et al (2017: 145) state that in fostering student motivation to learn, teachers have
an important role in taking attitudes. This is further reinforced by the opinion of Slameto (in
Tanjung et al, 2013) which states that learning is a process of changing behavior as a result of
interaction with the environment in meeting the needs of life. This learning process will continue
to learning outcomes whose existence is still related to human interaction with the environment.

Based on the questionnaire that the author distributed to 32 people consisting of 26
(81.3%) women and 6 (18.8%) men, the following results were obtained. The first statement is
"making literary works by observing the surrounding environment", 21 (65.6%) people answered
strongly agree, 6 (18.8%) people answered agree, 4 (12.5%) people answered less agree, 1 (3 ,
1%) people answered disagree. The second statement "making a poetry text with environmental
