Hello everyone,
I am Dr. Beverly Miller and I will be your instructor. I am originally
from Chapel Hill, NC, but currently reside in Myrtle Beach,SC with my
husband, 3 children and dog. I have been a nurse since 1997. My
nursing background includes Dermatology, Geriatrics, ICU, Pediatrics,
Psychiatric and Women’s care. My nursing experience has allowed a
variety of unique opportunities for my personal and professional
growth.
I received my BSN from USC Upstate. I earned my MSN and DNP
from Walden University. My current appointment as a Family Nurse
Practitioner is with a community health clinic focusing on
Reproductive Health care. I enjoy fishing and traveling.
I believe that learning needs are based on the individual. I take
pleasure in sharing my knowledge and nursing experiences. I to want
help maximize your experience and look forward to supporting you
on your journey.

Course Description
This course continues to expand the knowledge of health assessment principles
specific to the role of the FNP, with a focus on the healthcare needs of women and
families throughout reproductive and childrearing years. Students will further
develop their skills related to health promotion, prevention of illness, diagnosis, and
management of health problems commonly experienced. Care strategies will include
patient education, protocol development, follow-up, and referral through a clinical
practicum experience in a precepted primary care setting.
