General Information and Policies
Course Number and Title: NURS 3006 – 01, Foundations of Nursing
Number of Credit Hours and Clock Hours of Class, Lab, or Clinical: 6 Credit Hours; 4 hours
weekly of theory and 45 clinical hours with 45 lab/practicum hours
Times and Places: Theory on Monday 10:00 – 11:50 and 1:00 – 2:50, location NSE 135 – 136
Lab Thursday OR Friday 9:00 – 11:50 or 2:00 – 4:50 NSE 231 or NSE 226
Clinical dates, times, and locations will be announced later in the semester.

NURS 3103- Nursing Pharmacology
Course Description: This course focuses on the principles, strategies, and procedures related to
the practice of nursing. Students are introduced to the concepts of nursing, caring, client, health,
and environment and are provided with opportunities to use the nursing process, develop effective
communication techniques, and practice psychomotor skills. Four hours of class and six hours of
lab or clinical per week, or the equivalent.
Teaching Methods: Lecture, discussion/seminar, audiovisuals (CD or DVD), handouts, written
assignments, projects, student presentations, lab practice, simulation, and clinical practicum
Evaluation Methods: Examinations, case studies, written assignments, formal paper, lab
demonstrations, and clinical performance
