Spinal cord is a tube of neural tissue which is continuous with the medulla oblongata at the base
of the brain and it extends to the lower border of L1 vertebra. In case of adult. the main function
of the spinal cord in the brain is to transmit the messages to and from the brain. the lower level of
the spinal cord ends at L1 vertebra, but still there are lots of other vertebra left.. The spinal cord
does n't extend the entire length of the vertebral column. a group of nerves leaves. The inferior
spinal cord and extend downward and this group of nerve fiber is known as koda Equina.. The
main functions of this phylum terminal is supportive function that means it anchor the spinal.
cord onto the. coccygeal vertebra. It fixes spinal cord there understand what is cornus
medullaris.. The spinal cord is much shorter than the. length of the vertebral column, the spinal
segment do not lie opposite the corresponding vertebra.. The spinal nerve attached to the curd by
roots, and they exit from the vertical channel via the intervertebral foramina.. There are 31 pairs
of the spinal nerves coming out from the spinal cord..
