Since businesses world become more global market, the sources of
supply become more globally as well. Supply chains have changed
longer and more complex. An effective supply chain management
could also bring lot of benefits to company from different part:

Reduce and keep the lower inventory. Lower inventory can
increase the speed of transportations and increase by
efficiently fulfilling customer demands.

Delivering the right quantity to the right destination in the
right time with the lowest cost

Finding out ways to provide the goods to the customer better,
faster and cheaper.

It can minimized the logistics cost by consolidating shipment

Providing competitive advantage for all retailers.

2. What potential problems result from poor supply chain
management?

Poor supply chain management will results in late deliveries
and huge stock outs.

Poor supply chain management will have excess inventory at
many stages in the supply chain, but meanwhile having
shortages at other supply chain.

Immediate effect of poor SCM relates to late deliveries of
customized products. Therefore, it will directly cost extra
money for company to pay unnecessary fine. More than that it
will make company lose customers’ trust.

2. A close integration among participants is indispensable to the
creation of an efficient supply chain. What major obstacles could
stop participants from forming a close relationship?
Although companies wish to participate in smooth-running supply
chains, they have to overcome some obstacles to achieve this
objective.
