,A. Present cognitive, behavioral and physiological symptoms
indicating that the individual continues the use of
substance despite significant substance related-related
problems.
B. Change in brain circuits that may persist beyond
detoxification (relapse and intense drug craving)
C. Impaired control over substance
D. Express persistent efforts to cut down and have been
unsuccessful
E. Spend a great deal of time obtaining, using or recovering
the effects substance
F. Virtually all of the individual’s daily activities revolve
around the substance (some instance)
G. Craving
, • Social Impairment
• Continue use despite having persistent or recurrent social or
interpersonal problems caused or exacerbated by the effects of
substance
• Important social, occupational, or recreational activities may be
given up or reduced because of substance abuse.
• Recurrent substance use in situations which it is physically
hazardous
• May continue use despite knowledge of having a persistent or
recurrent physical or psychological problem that is likely to have
been cause or exacerbated by the substance
• Markedly increased dose of the substance to achieve the desired
effect or a markedly reduced effect when the usual dose is
consumed
