Measurements
SI system Ans -consists of a number of base units of measurements that can be combined to form
derived units
meter Ans -Base unit of length
kilogram Ans -Base unit of mass
kelvin Ans -Base unit of temperature
Derived units Ans -What is produced when the base units/quantities are combined
Volume Ans -Term for the amount of space an object occupies
Liquid displacement Ans -Method of determining the volume of an object by measuring the amount of
liquid it displaces
direct relationship Ans -A relationship between two variables where increasing one increases the other,
and vice versa
inverse relationship Ans -A relationship between two variables where increasing one decreases the
other, and vice versa
graduated cylinder Ans -used to measure liquid volume
mass Ans -is used to describe the amount of matter in an object
gram Ans -A smaller unit, which is used especially in chemistry
