income for them. As a result, he tried to keep Germany afloat, ensuring they could
recover.
He also wanted Germany to give up all of its colonies and reduce its army to a
voluntary army of 100 000.
He also saw Germany as a strong barrier to block out communisms from moving
further into Western Europe.

, 🇫🇷 The Tiger
Georges Clemenceau was remorseless towards Germany as he sought reparations and
revenge for the damage inflicted on his homeland. He did this to ensure that people in
his country could rest assured that there was safety and peace.
He sought reparations as France had suffered the most and needed to rebuild itself and
its infrastructure. It was under great pressure from the French people to seek revenge
and restore France to its pre-war state.
He yearned to cripple the German economy to ensure that they couldn’t launch an
attack in the future. He never wanted them to recover, nor rebuild its military
prowess.
He wanted Alsace Lorraine back as it has been stolen from France decades prior.
Moreover, he wanted a small German military, the Rhineland to be demilitarised, to
not be invaded by Germany again and to ensure that Germany would not get off
softly.
😛 In summary, the Tiger was focused on ensuring that Germany would be crippled
economically so they could never recover again as he believed the loss of life and damage
inflicted on his country was abominable, therefore seeking his revenge. He saw this as a
necessary precaution as he didn’t want France to be invaded again. Moreover, he yearned for
reparations and so that France could rebuild itself as they were impacted the most during the
war.
