Krys’ NR 667 Tips – 2021
You’re almost done with the program. Congratulations! One more class! Be proud of
how far you have come. 8 more weeks and you will be done!!

Hit Ctrl + F, and type in what you’re looking for, hit enter, and you should find what
you’re looking for faster. ***
I hope you find this document helpful. Share these tips with whoever. Feel free to
contact me at any time. Again, congrats to you!! Good luck!
As you can see, both this document and the intensive review document has a LOT of
helpful and priceless information. Both documents have taken me HOURS to complete
them. HOURS! If it is not too much to ask, I would be super grateful if you can support
me
Consider all the time that I have saved you with this doc. Otherwise, you would have to
have spent all that time trying to figure out everything on your own. Thank you.

Intensive Review:
Please reference the other document. Intensive Review is MANDATORY! If you do not
attend, this will be considered as an incomplete. There is no assigned seating at the
review. Seating is first come first serve. If you’re looking for official information about
intensive, reach out to school for it. If you’re closer to the last course, you should have
received an email/announcement about it. I highly recommend you finish all your clinical
hours and submit all your assignments before you attend intensive review. Trust me,
you will not have the energy, time, nor brain power to work on assignments and logs
during and after the review. I repeat, finish everything before week 7 ends.
Also, for whatever reason, they assigned a lot of topics to go over during this week’s
6 and 7 too. Stay on top of it!
All right. Let’s talk about NR 667.
NR 667 is VERY VERY busy. If you are the procrastinator type, this is the one class I
highly recommend you don’t do that. There is so much to do! You will fall behind quick
and be absolutely miserable. It is a lot of busy work. Stay on top of it. And to top it off,
you still have to go to clinical and do all your logs! Every week, you will be taking a 150
question APEA practice quiz, complete ePortfolio assignments, videos to watch (about
1.5 hours long), and periodically, you will have discussions and papers. For your
convenience, I kind of made a check list to keep you on track. It’s at the end of this
document. Feel free to use it or make your own.
The course is horrendously disorganized… If you thought it was already bad, NR 667 is
on a whole other level. When preview week opens up, you need to get very familiar with

the syllabus, what to expect, and to navigate where everything is. Instructions and
rubrics do not match at all and are not entirely helpful. When all else fails, reference the
rubric, which is located in week 7 where you are to turn in your ePortfolio. Yes, follow
the instructions, but do not solely rely on it. You need to reference the rubric.

Start getting the following prepared and save them as a PDF: certifications, licenses,
Conference / Non-Academic Course Completion Documents, work evaluations, letters of
recommendation, resume, and your LinkedIn profile. You will need this for Week 2 and 3.
Scroll down to the “ePortfolio” section of this document for more information. Getting
these now will cause you less stress.
Professors:
I hope you get one of the nicer professors because that makes all the difference. There
were some that were very chill and gave full credit for everything, and there were some
that shredded your assignments. If you get the pickier professor, put your head down
and get through it. Figure out what they want and just follow along. There are some
professors who want something done a certain way, even for your goals and objectives
assignment, even though they are your own personal goals and objectives. If that is
your professor, I recommend just doing what he/she is asking of you. I suggest this
because this is the “easier” path, it’s less stress, and the assignments will NOT matter
after you get that grade.
Open Forum:
They are not graded, but you need to turn one in weekly except for week 1. It’s easy.
Don’t stress. Just write whatever you want, but you have to write something.
Week 1: Discussion and Certification Review Plan (CRP)
These are easy. Make sure to follow the rubric though. Especially for the CRP. The
professors usually wanted these to be specific. Follow the example they provide in the
instructions. Be warned, that it is a tad time consuming. Do not do these last minute
because there is so much to do and trying to catch up will be difficult. Mind you, this is
week 1. You are still trying to figure out the class and navigate throughout the course.
The discussion requires responses on separate days. The CRP assignment asks you to
attach an appendix and include your APEA predictor result. Don’t worry too much about
that. I submitted my CRP and APEA result separately and had no issues. You’ll be
uploading 2 documents for this requirement. If you want to actually attach the APEA
predictor to your CRP and submit one document, that is actually one thing I do not know
how to advise you in. I knew it would have required me to do a lot of editing and
adjusting and all that. No one has time for that.
Thankfully my professor was chill. Up to you on how you want to do this.
Week 5: Grand Rounds Presentation – Infographic
I used Canva (www.canva.com) to make my infographic. It is free and easy to use. If you
want to unlock everything that Canva has to offer, then that would be the only time you
would pay. Otherwise, you can use the free items that they have. I liked it because it
provides more space. If you use Microsoft Word, that is fine, but you might limit yourself
on space because this is meant to be a one- page infographic. The formatting of Canva
has plenty of room. It is not a hard assignment, but the part that gets time consuming is
organizing your infographic to fit everything. Remember, the purpose of this assignment
is to present the information in a summary-like matter. Make sure you follow the rubric.
If it helps, think of the assignment like this. When you go to your PCP’s office, they have
those medical pamphlets that have the general information and the needs-to-know. That
is how your infographic should be. Concise, easy to digest, and simple. Don’t forget your
peer and instructor responses. And make sure to follow the rubric! The instructions don’t
