Resiliency in Young Adulthood: revamping resilience training and programs
Resilience is a compelling way of transforming and adapting positively in the face of
adversity or the ability to adjust efficiently in times of hardships, and sorrow is referred to as
resilience and is a valuable prowess for young adults (Gatt et al., 2020). Traumatic events and
prolonged adversities can all have a substantial impact on an individual's neurological
functionality, and structure, leading to the development of PTSD, despair, and other mental
diseases in teens (Javidi & Yadollahie, 2012). Many people, on contrary, avoid illnesses as a
result of traumatic life events leading to improved situational reactions and eventually tolerance
to the detrimental effects of stress due to acquired resilience qualities (Wu et al., 2013). Every
person on earth is subjected to stressful circumstances, and the majority of people are
traumatized at some point in their lives which necessitates the development of resilience in life.
Understanding how to build and improve resilience is essential for not just boosting
defense techniques but also controlling dysfunctional emotion regulation in people with mental
illnesses. Hence, resilience helps individuals to sail their boats in times of hardships and
tribulations while maintaining adequate mental and physiological functioning (Rutter, 2012).
Resilience is particularly important in a rapidly changing environment where adolescents must
adapt and deal with new obstacles often. Thus, resilient youngsters are better at adapting to the
ups and downs of life and have higher levels of efficiency and standard of living (Leppin et al.,
2014). Therefore, it can be inferred that resilience is the foundation of children’s healthy mindset
in their future life and it helps them to confront every difficulty with perseverance.
