Christianity entered Ethiopia in the 4th century, and ክፍֳ ዘ‫א‬Q ‫ֲת‬Q፥ Lዙ‫ ו‬Tይ‫ּב‬ይ ‫א‬ጽּፍ ዱ ወደ‫ׂש‬ድ‫ז‬ው
the Bible was translated into Geez (Ethiopic) የ_ُዮጵያ ‫ּה‬Q‫ּה‬፥ ወደ ግዕዝ ‫נــ‬ጎ‫א‬። f ‫ـף ף‬ው
thereafter. This Bible was revised in the 14th ክፍֳ ዘ‫א‬Q እQደገn ‫ֳ„„ـ‬። የ‫א‬ጀ‫עא‬ያው ‫ ִב‬የ‫ץד‬
Century. The first complete Amharic Bible was ‫א‬ጽּፍ ዱ f1840 እ.ኤ. የٍ‫ֲת אـ‬Q፥ ከዚያ f‹ֶ
produced in 1840, and went thru several revisions Lዙ ጊዜ እየ‫ָחٍُ ֳ„„ـ‬። Q እዚֱ f_Q‫ץـ‬jُ
thereafter. The version of the Bible presented here የ‫נׂש‬fው ‫א‬ጽּፍ ዱ ፥ f_ُዮጵያው Qጉ‫ ם‬f‫ׂש‬ዳ‫ד‬ዊ
was the fulfillment of the expressed desire of Haile ٪ይֳ ‫ ױֶם‬ዘ‫א ]א‬Qግ‫ُם‬፥ f1962 ዓ.‫ ו‬የٍ‫אـ‬ው ]ው።
