How to Apply to a University and Pay for Pathway Programs
Marina provides insight into applying for a university and paying for pathway programs.
The average length of a pathway program is 16 to 24 weeks, and exams are not required.
International students are typically required to take a language test for average universities.
For Ph.D. programs, options are available for students with a budget, but the cost and the
affiliated universities should be researched first.
For example, Temple University has a 56% acceptance rate and requires TOEFL or IELTS for
admission.
SAT or ACT exams are standard exams for American students when they graduate high school,
with SAT focusing on critical thinking and logical problem-solving.
ACT is a stricter knowledge exam while SAT focuses more on terminology knowledge. SAT may
be easier for foreign students primarily good at maths.
For British universities, students would need to be prepared to take the exam in their country.
For masters programs, students typically take either GRE or GMAT exams.
GRE is for economics and everything else, while GMAT is more business-related and suitable
for economics programs.
For Bachelor's in Mathematics, students must take SAT Maths 1 and Maths 2.
Ivy League or top-ranking universities are highly competitive, and international students need to
take TOEFL, IELTS, and SAT or SAT subject tests for MIT and MIT.

Test Scores for University Applications
When applying for universities, there are different minimum test scores to consider.
Toefl and IELTS exams require a minimum score set by the university.
SAT, GRE, GMAT, and GMAT exams do not have a minimum score, but universities look at the
average scores of last year's admitted students.
If you hope to receive financial aid, your scores should be higher than the average. For
example, if the average GRE score is 320, aim for a score of 320 or above. Good luck with your
progress!
