The Story of the Exceptional Young Men in the kargil War
In May 1999, Pakistan ignited the kargil War, and after many hard-won battles in the war, this is
the story of just a few exceptional young men whose actions on the front line have come to
define valor and sacrifice.
India has its first taste of victory. "I think the tide turned with the battle of tolerance. Once these
boys had done that, then I felt assured that yes, we can do it," said a military official.
The liberation of Tololing opened up new fronts across the battlefields in Dras. All along the Line
of Control (LOC), Indian guns are blazing with each besieged speak targeted.

Tiger Hill and Indian Control
On July 8th, 1999, Tiger Hill came back under Indian control. It was the courage and
determination of the young officers and men behind the gun that led to the success and victory.
In the coming weeks, the Indian army swept through other occupied posts along the Line of
Control. Despite facing great odds on the high frontier, remarkable young officers and joanns
under 20 years old displayed grit and character far beyond their years.
