Dear Sir/ Madam,
REF: APPLICATION FOR A FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER
I am writing this letter to express an interest in the family nurse position advertised on 20 th
January 2021. I am a family nurse graduate for Washington Adventist university currently
pursuing my master degree in family nurse practitioner at Walden University with over 10 -year
experience as a registered nurse. Passionate about bringing positive social change in
organizations, I would love an opportunity to provide care to patients with acute and chronic
conditions. I am looking to expand my career growth, thus my application for the position
referenced above.
Currently am working at Shady Groove Medical Center as a Float Pool Nurse and as Clinical
Administrator. As a float pool nurse, I have gained patient safety, personal safety, time
management, and infection control skills. As a clinical administrator, I have gained skills in
overseeing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supervising departments/units. I also have
skills in analyzing and interpreting patient history, performing a physical examination, conducting
diagnostic tests, and making diagnoses in a busy 45-bed critical care unit.
Moreover, I can also effectively work well under a team or independently with minimal
supervision while maintaining calm when under pressure to solve problematic issues that may
require my attention. My course work has equipped me with skills in developing treatment plans
based on evidence-based principles and scientific rationale, professional practice guidelines, and
standards of care.
I will bring to the organization that these skills and a positive and cooperative attitude that I have
displayed throughout my career. I believe that I will make a tremendous contribution to the
organization and would very much like to be part of the team. I look forward to hearing from you
soon.
