, INTRODUCTION
• Thedefects in the immune system will give rise to
immunodeficiency diseases.
• Ifthese defects are inherited then it is termed as primary
immunodeficiency diseases
• Ifthe defects arise due to certain environmental factors then it is
called as secondary or acquired immunodeficiency diseases
• The most well known secondary immunodeficiency disease is AID
resulting from HIV infection
• Otherfactors such as drug treatment, metabolic diseases or
malnutrition can also lead to secondary immunodeficiency disea
