1. As per the documentary, what kind of architect is Frank Gehry?
He is an architect who is also an artist, which was not a normal thing because they didn’t
really intermingle with eachother. People looked at him as a “Hyphenate”. He noted for
exploded the landscape of modern architecture and transforming it to a sublime and
majestic form of art.
2. Name 5 projects designed by Gehry mentioned in the documentary.

3. How did Gehry enter the field of architecture? Write about his early days as an architect.
From an early age Gehry would draw with his father. At the beginning of his architecture
career, he took a class with Mr. Workman and failed the course, he took it again and got
an A. He then went on to take a ceramics class and that professor recommended he
takes an architecture class which he did. That architecture professor tells him in his
opinion that was not the field for him, but he didn’t give up on it.
4. What does Gehry feel about ‘decoration’ on building?
He grew up in the mantra of modernism, where materials could be expressive. And
without decoration, how can you humanize a building? He was makes the statement that
architecture is very much about the materials as well as about the design and look of it.
5. Briefly explain Gehry’s approach to design.
When he designs things he builds them in blocks and continuously keeps changing the
scale so that it stay “realistic” to him. This is so what he initially envisioned to be the
focal point and so on is what actually comes out to be that and he doesn’t get enamored
