Consumer IoT systems are increasingly being adopted in the modern world. However, these
systems are hugely affected by the likelihood of security and privacy breaches due to their access
nature. The report analyses the importance of IoT systems and their application in day to day life
such as smart-homes. A review of the current state of these systems, threats revolving around
their usage and their limitations have been provided so that a clear understanding of the systems
will be availed. The report also provides the alternative network level security measures that can
be initiated in an attempt to improve the security of these devices. The research also provides an
opportunity for future research based on the fact that all available data doesn’t provide a
comprehensive analysis of consumer IoT systems.
