, 1.0 Research Question
How can improvement in green cloud computing reduce faults in the networks?
2.0 Aim
Faults in networks are caused by malfunction of the networks in detecting, isolating and
resolving problems related to the network, solving these problems should be done in an eco-
friendly environment which is conservative of energy in the environment, provide scalability and
trustworthy through green cloud computing.
3.0 Background, Relevance and Motivation- Literature Review
3.1 Background
Cloud computing has been a hot topic in computer infrastructure with trending new
developments in the field of network computing such as Internet of Things, Artificial
Intelligence and Big Data which all collaborate with the need for a cloud in matching the needs
of consumers of technology. The advent of green cloud computing has been inspired by the need
to conserve environment through energy efficient means, a dogma which was conclusively
discussed in a research done by (Allsmail & Kurdi, 2016) on reducing network traffics between
VMs to reduce energy consumption in the servers. In this research it was summarized out that
the growth in cloud computing has led to consumption of more energy in the networks from the
carbon footprints in the datacenters, therefore network optimization techniques and using green
cloud computing will combat this environmental hazard.
Cloud computing is not a very new terminology in the computer world as it is an advancement of
the previous Data Service Centre. According to a research done by Kharade (2016), the everyday
activities in the network contribute to huge emission of Carbon (II) Oxide which is harmful to
