Research has shown that as teachers grow professionally, their expertise

teaching and learning processes. In light of this statement, answer the following
questions.

1.1 Define effective teaching:
Effective teaching can be defined as a process by which a teacher facilitates
learning, and students acquire knowledge, skills, and attitudes that contribute
to their personal and academic growth. Effective teaching involves the use of
different teaching strategies, methods, and techniques that meet the diverse
learning needs of students. An effective teacher creates a positive and
supportive learning environment that fosters student engagement, motivation,
and critical thinking. Effective teaching also involves ongoing professional
development and reflective practices that enhance teaching and learning
outcomes.

1.2 Discuss the variables of effective learning:
Effective learning can be influenced by various variables, including:
 Student motivation: Motivated students are more likely to engage in the
learning process, take responsibility for their learning, and persist in the
face of challenges.
 Student engagement: Engaged students actively participate in the
learning process, ask questions, and seek clarification when needed.
