, Introduction
• Third Industrial Revolution) is the shift from mechanical and analogue electron
technology to digital electronics which began in the latter half of the 20th centu
with the adoption and proliferation of digital computers and digital record-keep
that continues to the present day (Wikipedia).
• It brought forth the rise of electronics, computers and internet. Through the
new technologies, the third industrial revolution opened the doors to space
expeditions, research, and biotechnology.
• In the second half of the 20th century, we also see the emergence of yet anot
source of energy, Nuclear energy!
• Computer Aided Manufacturing utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC
and Robots helped give rise to an era of high-level automation.
