Given the following problem-solving questions below, compute for the required values using

1. Compute the increase in the length of 50 m copper wire when its temperature changes
from 12OC to 32OC. For copper, = 1.7 x 10-5 OC -1 . Answer: L = 1.7 cm.
2. Calculate the increase in volume of 10 cm3 of mercury when its temperature changes
from 10OC to 35OC. The volume coefficient of expansion of mercury is 0.00018 OC -1 .
Answer: Volume = 0.45 cm
