Question 2: Describe how the advent of computers aided law enforcement officials in
solving crimes. Research the internet and give specific cases as examples.
Technology has revolutionized the way the law reinforcement officers solve crimes and
even the way they carry out investigations. To start with, the technological advancements have
been of critical importance in the sense that they help the officers to not only reach a conclusion
but also reach a conclusion that is generally agreeable. Over time, technology keeps on evolving
and in this case, this kind of technology has changed from what it used to be in the past years.
Relying on this technology at the same time to make conclusions is important in the sense that
accuracy and up to date decisions have been made all along. One of these technologies is the use
of drones and robots in the investigation and collection of evidence. The drones for instance can
be used to collect sensitive information that the officer cannot be able to collect. Further, these
drones can be used to track cars in case of a crime and provide the officers with the exact
location of the suspects. This is something that can be achieved by the use of bear hands or
chasing of the cars by road which seems hectic. The use of robots at the same time is important
in the sense that they utilize the technology that almost resembles that of man in collecting
information and other evidences. Robots can be able to function for instance in conditions that
humans can not be able to survive. For instance, a robot can walk on a destroyed building as a
result of a bomb and be able to access areas that humans can not be able to access at that moment
due to the health risks of the building. In terms of high temperatures and scary environment,
humans tend to shy away but robots can be used to collect information at any condition.
