Question 2: Using your textbook and by conducting additional research, answer the
following questions: How has the field of microanalysis progressed over the past few
decades? What are some of the more recent inventions/modifications that improve this
scientific field?
Technology plays a major role in the development and advancement of investigations. At
the same time, technology has made lives easier and better by day due to various inventions that
help not only to solve problems and challenges that face humanity but at the same time makes
the lives of individuals easier and manageable. It is with this same technology that forensic
investigations have relied on over time and better judgments and conclusions on various cases
have been reached on. Since invention, technology has served a key pillar in the development
and advancement of the general well being of the society we live in. in the old days, investigators
and other authorities basically depended largely on crude methods to reach conclusions which is
not the case in the recent days. There are qualitative and quantitative microanalysis procedures
and all have progressed over time. first is the fact that the early days, scientists used large
samples and solvents at the same time which could not process micro objects that were way
smaller and the machines them could not hold the small weights of the samples. Further, these
samples were very risky in terms of contamination in the sense that there was little care on how
the samples were handled and kept in the laboratories. With the recent technologies, there are
high chances that very small samples can be processed and results obtained and at the same time,
there are very little cases of contamination in the sense that the scientists have become more
accurate and sensitive of their duties in the case of handling the various samples.
