DRDO Scientist Arrested for Providing Secret Information to Pakistan
A top DRDO scientist was recently arrested on the charges of providing secret information to
Pakistan. There are accusations about him being honey trapped, which means a spy posing
as an innocent female lured him into revealing secrets. This is concerning as he was working
on important projects for DRDO, such as missile launchers and the Indian hyperbaric
chamber. Honey trapping has been an ongoing issue in India, with China and Pakistan being
experts in this tactic.
Honey Trapping as a Pathetic Form of Espionage
Honey trapping is a low level form of espionage where a country exploits the sexual needs of
an individual to obtain information. China and Pakistan have been using this tactic for a long
time, with China having a whole division dedicated to creating honey traps. This can have a
negative impact on a country's democracy and trust in its institutions. The US, UK, and
Canada have started educating their top-level officials on how to avoid honey traps, and
India can learn from the example of the Indian army, which deleted all dating apps from its
soldiers' phones.
Improvements and Suggestions
We need to educate people on the dangers of honey trapping and remove dating apps from
important institutions like DRDO and ISRO. We can also learn from the examples of other
countries and start educating our officials.
