Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics
There is a two-way relationship between the drug and the body. The body
affects the drug, and the drug affects the body. Pharmacokinetic is the
process through which the drug is absorbed, distributed, and eliminated
from the body and pharmacodynamics refers to how the drug initiates its
therapeutic or toxic effect, both at the cellular and systemic levels
(Arcangelo et al., 2017). For this discussion, a patient’s pharmacokinetics
and pharmacodynamics related to the drug warfarin will be discussed.
