A. Task description
Research the likely future development related to one of these topics:
1. Space Travel
2. Humanoid Robots
B. Task Structure & Content
Focus your writing on the following points:
A short introduction that includes brief information, a definition of your topic, and an overview
sentence (thesis statement)
Some background information about this topic (why is this happening, how is it being developed,
give specific examples). Support this with researched information and numerical data or diagrams).
A prediction of this future development (what will happen in the future)
The positive & negative impacts of this development
A short conclusion (summary & your opinion (phrased academically))

Important notes:
1. This is not your personal prediction, but you will research the predictions of scientists and other
experts.
2. Include specific examples and numerical information (eg statistics, a graph or chart).
3. Try to use language of future prediction to describe this development.
4. Remember that you must summarise and paraphrase your research materials. Plagiarism is an
academic crime and will be penalised.
5. In line with policies at TAFE SA and universities, the use of Wikipedia is not permitted for this
assignment. (You can use Wiki to get some initial understanding about your topic but it cannot be
used as an academic source of information).
6. Use of sites such as Google Translate and ChatGPT is not permitted as these do not help you to
develop your English skills.
7. References need to be in the correct format. You should have at least 8 references in your
assignment.
8. You need to include at least 1 appendix. Choose a picture, table or numerical information for this.
