This document summarizes what I've studied through the Human Rights class, you don't need to follow a specific chapter as they all vary based on country, but it includes everything the course had to offer from start to finish along with other similar documents.

Civil Human Rights

- rights of individuals to receive equal treatment & be free from discrimination everywhere

- a human being has the right to live and should not be killed by another human being
Concerns the following including right to freedom

- an abortion that happens without any intervention is a miscarriage or spontaneous abortion
- when intervention is included it is called an induced abortion/miscarriage
- an abortion debate deals with the rights & wrongs of ending a pregnancy
- is a very painful topic for women & men when facing the choice of ending a pregnancy
Two sides of abortion

circumstances - rare occasions are acceptable

Why should abortion be legal ? Why should abortion be illegal?

- a way of relief when a person’s quality of life law
is low - is homicide/murder
- preserves human dignity - devalues human life
- doctors should not be involved in death of a
person intentionally
- Capital punishment (‫)ﻋﻘﻮﺑﺔ اﻹﻋﺪام‬
- right to life is not always guaranteed
- some believe that capital punishment is the worst violation of human rights
- it violates the right to life which is the most important right
- inflicts to condemned psychological torture
Human Rights doesn’t prohibit the use of death penalty but does encourage to limit & end it

, Equality
- quality of being the same in quantity, measure, value, or status
- associated with the notion of justice
- law has to be equal to everyone regardless of gender, race, money, and status
Misunderstanding

It is: - Freedom - right to life, movement
- equality before the law - Welfare - protect interest of poor people

- equality before the law is not absolute because not all laws must apply to all people in all
circumstances

Non-discrimination
Discrimination:
- refers to the different treatment of an individual or a group of individuals which results in a
disadvantage
