Narrative report for; Webinar on Digital Construction for New Normal
On this webinar the main topic is about Tekla Structures, which is about building information
modeling software able to model structures that incorporate different kinds of building materials,
including steel, concrete, timber and glass. It is my fist time hearing Tekla Structures software and it
gives a high impression to me because it so advance and easy to understand the common icon in the
software although we have AutoCAD and Sketch Up but after I saw what the Tekla can make, it really
can enhance efficiency in every phase of the project. And my opinion it is most capable and advanced
systems in its field, but because it includes more tools, options, possibilities, and opportunities for
customization, it takes a little longer to master. But Tekla Structures is a bit costly especially the
premium account with a license, it varies accordingly with the plan chosen although it has a Free trial for
new account for a students like me and other professional but according to what I heard in the seminar
it has only 40 days trial. Numerous features covered in this plan helps the designer to create world-class
3Dmodels of buildings. One of what I heard in the Vibrant Technology Solutions (VTS) speaker their
mission is to transform the engineering, construction, and operations industries by investing the next

detailing and precast concrete detailing. Like what I saw in the webinar it makes me amaze that it can
create or plan a model for structural steel, concrete, rebar, and miscellaneous steel. It is, in fact,
specifically designed to be used for steel and concrete. Till date engineers have used this software for
building skyscrapers, bridges, residencies, factories, plants, offshore plants and model stadiums. And
one of the offers in the construction industry of Tekla Structure software. First, with the use of Tekla,
one can build any structure regardless of material and size, second it can detect clashes early in the
fabrication process and avoid it beforehand, third, it can get precise drawings and reports from the
model, lastly, it’s streamlined the workflow with approved standards.
