Class width = Range / Classes
Range = Upper class limit (52) - Lower class limit (10)
= 52-10
Range = 42

(b) Work out a frequency table displaying the class limits, the class boundaries, the
midpoints, the frequencies, the relative frequencies and the cumulative frequencies. (16
marks)
Class boundaries = Upper class limit of the second class (20) – lower class limit of the first
class (19) / 2
= 20 –
= 0.5
Then subtract all upper classes with 0.5 that is (10 – 0.5 = 9.5, 20 – 0.5 = 19.5 and so on)
And add all lower classes with 0.5 that is (19 + 0.5 = 19.5, 29 + 0.5 = 29.5 and so on)
