Future simple
- We use the future simple (will) or be + going to to talk about future events. (voorspellingen)
In 2028, Los Angeles will organise the Olympics again.
The Olympics are going to attract lots of tourism.
- To stress the idea of intention, we often use the future simple: be + going. (niet volledig zeker)
I’m going to study very hard next weekend.
- To stress the idea of personal arrangements, we use the present continuous. (vaste afspraken)
Next week I am meeting some friends.
- To talk about plans that take place every hour, month, year …, we use the present simple
(tijdstabellen, op vaste tijdstippen)
Every morning, at 7:50 AM the bus comes across my house.
