Solution
Drugs effect synaptic activities by 4 ways-
1) excitatory effect on neurotransmitter release- Excessive production of neurotransmitter results
into hyperactivity and leads to severe abd chronic condition.
2) inhibitory effect on neurotransmitter release-inhibitory effect on neurotransmitters decreases
its synthesis and release which produces deficiency and leads to severe diseases.
3)postsynaptic receptor blockade- Antagonist binds to a receptor on postsynaptic neuron and
blocks the binding of neurotransmitter, results into abnormal transmissions.
4)inhibition of reuptake of neurotransmitter- In this, blockade of prejunctional membrane results
into inhibition of reuptake of neurotransmitters which results into ecxessive amount of drug at
synapse.
