Types of stroke -: ischemic and hemorrhagic
ischemic stroke -: interruption of brain blood flow caused by thrombus, embolus or
plaque; most common type
hemorrhagic stroke -: occurs when a blood vessel in the brain leaks or ruptures;
also known as a bleed; most deadly type
Lacunar stroke -: a stroke resulting from occlusion of small vessels.
intracerebral hemorrhage -: bleeding into the brain as a result of a ruptured blood
vessel within the brain
subarachnoid hematoma -: usually the result of a cerebral aneurysm; main
symptom severe headache.
Stroke symptoms -: Sudden weakness or numbness of the face, arm or leg,
especially on one side of the body
