This source briefly sets out the arguments for and against euthanasia, and what is restricting it from
being legalised. I intend to reference all parts of this source, since it covers the legal, medical, and
philosophical aspects of the topic. I will be able to get ideas from this and take arguments out from
this source to utilise in my EPQ essay, and then I can develop these points. This source looks at the
medical perspective (Proper palliative care, Patients best interest), the legal perspective (Fears about
regulation, Fears of empowering doctors too much, the slippery slope argument); and the
philosophical perspective (the will of god, the sanctity of life). Overall, this source will be really useful
as it can provide me with a starting point from which I can build up my ideas.

This source clearly evaluates what the legal position of the UK is for euthanasia. This will be good in
understanding what stance we have, and what are the legal barriers due to which euthanasia is
allowed. In this sources, key terms about euthanasia are defined. Words such as passive euthanasia,
active euthanasia, physician assisted suicide etc. This video also looks over at 4 cases, both legal and
medical, which I can reference in my essay, and use as an example for such barriers.

This source clarifies the legal position of the UK, as well as the key arguments for and against the
argument of euthanasia being legalised. I will be specifically looking at the abstract to get the key
parts of this journal article. I will use the arguments mentioned in the abstract to form a base for my
ideas, and then, I will use other sources and develop my argument.

This source looks at a set of data of results for a server that both doctors and non-doctors have
taken part in. This source will be great for me to use, looking at all the charts contained in the
survey. The norm over all these surveys was that members who are registered with a licence to
practise medicine in the UK were more opposed than those without a licence to practise. This is key
to my essay, as it shows that euthanasia is opposed by doctors.
